Miss Universe Organization Umumkan Juri Malam Final

Miss Universe Organization melalui Instagram resmi mereka mengumumkan nama-nama yang akan duduk di deretan dewan juri pada malam final yang akan dilaksanakan pada 26 November 2017. Beberapa publik figur dan mantan ratu kecantikan ikut mengisi deretan nama yang akan menentukan pemenang Miss Universe tahun ini, mereka adalah :

 

Matthew Ross dikenal sebagai “Ross The Intern” pada acara The Tonight Show with Jay Leno adalah seorang publik figur dan penulis buku Man Up!: Tales of My Delusional Self-Confidence. Matthew Ross tampil di beberapa acara televisi di Amerika Serikat seperti Celebrity Fit Club, dan The Insider. Saat ini, Matthew mengurus acara  Hollywood Today Live, RuPaul’s Drag Race, dan Live from E!

 

 

Wendy Fitzwilliam adalah pemenang Miss Universe 1998 dari Trinidad and Tobago. Wendy menjadi wakil Trinidad and Tobago kedua yang memenangkan mahkota Miss Universe setelah Janelle Comissiong. Selepas jabatan, Wendy menjadi pengacara dan juga menjadi pembawa acara di beberapa kontes kecantikan di Karibia. Wendy juga menjadi salah satu panel juri di Caribbean’s Next Top Model.

 

Pembawa acara UFC Ultimate Insider pada stasiun televisi FOX Sports 1, Megan Olivi juga dikabarkan menjadi salah satu juri pada malam final Miss Universe 2017. Megan Olivi dikenal sebagai publik figur dan reporter acara olahraga martial arts.

 

 

 

Salah satu selebrgam yang terkenal dengan video-video lucunya, Elenora Pons Maronese atau yang dikenal sebagai Lele Pons akan mengisi deretan dewan juri pada malam final Miss Universe 2017. Selebgram berdarah Venezuela ini  juga tampil di video clip Havana milik Camila Cabello, dan pernah membuat video “Om Telolet Om” bersama beberapa selebgram lainnya.

 

 

Creative director America’s Next Top Model, Jay Manuel juga ikut berada dalam daftar dewan juri Miss Universe 2017. Selain menjadi creative director, Jay Manuel juga pernah menjadi pembawa acara Canada’s Next Top Model.

 

 

 

 

Dan yang terakhir, si cantik dari negara Power House Asia. Miss Universe 2015, Pia Wurtzbach  juga ikut menjadi dewan juri malam final Miss Universe 2017. Pia menjadi satu-satunya juri dari Asia yang akan ikut menentukan pemenang Miss Universe 2017.

Indonesia Crowned Its First Miss International Title

Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan, Kevin Liliana crowned as the first Miss International from Indonesia yesterday (14/11). Liliana was crowned by her predecessor, Kylie Verzosa of Philippines. The pageant took place in Tokyo Dome Hall, where 70 beauties all over the world competed for the 57th title of Miss International. Miss International itself was established on 1960 in Long Beach, California. Indonesia wins its very first title of Miss International since their participation back in 1960.

Kevin Liliana, 21 is a student of Interior Design in Maranatha Christian University Bandung. Liliana stands 177 cm and previously crowned as Puteri Indonesia Lingkungan 2017 or 1st Runner Up in Puteri Indonesia 2017 pageant. Liliana’s victory in this pageant makes her become the 2nd Indonesian woman to win the major 5 pageants.

 

Besides winning the coveted title of Miss International, Liliana also win the title of Miss Best Dresser. It was a back-to-back award given to Indonesia after last year’s Felicia Hwang who also crowned as the 2nd Runner Up won the title. Liliana wore Ivan Gunawan’s gown during the Miss International finale.

Indonesia also wear a “Mbok Jamu” national costume this year, “Mbok Jamu” is a term for Indonesian traditional health potion seller. This costume was designed by Annisa Banyuwangi using an unique purple kebaya.

Kevin Liliana’s victory also put her name in the achievement list of Indonesia in Miss International history. Indonesia first debuted in Miss International on 1960, the national pageant who has the permission to sent the delegates that time was Miss Java and Miss Indonesia Programme back in 1960 and 1969. Later, on 2007, Yayasan Puteri Indonesia took over the franchise and started to sent its Runner Up since 2007.

2014 – Elfin Pertiwi Rappa (Top 10, Best National Costume)

2016 – Felicia Hwang (2nd Runner Up, Best Dresser)

2017 – Kevin Liliana (MISS INTERNATIONAL 2017, Best Dresser, Missosology People’s Choice)

Missosology Ousted “Miss Earth” From Its ‘Grandslam’ Club

Philippines’-based pageant portal, Missosology finally ousted “Miss Earth” pageant from its ‘Grandslam’ list. The loyalty to the pageant itself has gone since many pageant fans all over the world claims that Ibasco’s victory in Miss Earth was a total unprofessionalism. Many protests come from Thai and Latin supporters, claiming that Miss Earth final has been set up for Miss Philippines victory.

Miss Earth itself was found on 2001 in the Philippines with a purpose to raise awareness through global warming and protecting the environment. Miss Earth has around 17 titleholders from 12 countries. Philippines leads the number of the most crown wheren just in 4 years, Philippines has won the title three times including a back-to-back in 2014 and 2015.

Many hate speech and comments are coming on Ibasco’s Instagram and also her Facebook page. Some pageant portal and page are also receiving bad response due to Ibasco’s victory that mostly claimed as a ‘cooking show’ and ‘not deserving beauty’. Most of pageant fans are in favour with Thailand’s Paweensuda Drouin and Venezuela’s Ninoska Vasquez – both are placed in the Top 8.

Missosology’s decision to put out Miss Earth from its VIP list has giving some surprise towards the pageant fans where Missosology’s loyalty to the pageant is very high. Good responses are coming from pageant fans all over the world towards this decision. Some are also speculating that this is just another trick for Missosology to get the sympathy from pageant fans around the world.

By the ousting of this environmental-oriented pageant from Missosology’s Grandslam list, pageant fans were left questioned by the status of Miss Grand International on the list. Missosology has moved the Miss Earth page to “other pageants” section but there’s no confirmation yet from Missosology either Miss Grand International gonna be listed on the VIP list or still not considered by Missosology as a Grandslam pageant.

 

The Pageanthlon 2017 – Post Miss Grand International 2017

Miss Grand International pageant has successfully held the event in Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam on October 25th 2017. Around 77 beauties from all over the globe has competed and a 27-years-old-beauty from Trujillo, Peru was crowned at the end of the event. Maria Jose Lora marked as the 3rd official Latina to win the title of this Thai-based beauty pageant. From 77 nations competing in this event, The Pageant Times Indonesia has released the rankings of the Top 15 Best Performing Countries Pageanthlon. Pageanthlon is a term for naming 5 most popular and prestigious pageant in the world including : Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss International, Miss Supranational, and Miss Grand International. The distribution of the points are shown below

Winner – 100 Points

1st Runner Up – 80 Points

2nd Runner Up – 70 Points

3rd Runner Up – 60 Points

4th Runner Up – 50 Points

2nd Cut – 30 Points

1st Cut – 20 Points

Awards – 10 Points

Peru leads in the first place as its victory in Miss Grand International 2017, as Philippines leads in the Asia Region with 70 points, Czech Republic is leading for the Europe Region also Puerto Rico leads the Caribbean Region, and of course South Sudan is becoming the only African in the Pageanthlon Board.

This board will be changing as the other Pageanthlon event held its final. We’re still waiting for Miss World and Miss International result to see who’s gonna take over Peru’s position.
